Background

‍

A B2B payments platform that helps growing businesses move money across borders. Its clients manage transfers, payroll, and invoicing in one place, with fiat and stablecoin balances side by side.

‍

Many of its clients are importers and exporters moving physical goods, paying overseas suppliers and collecting from buyers in another currency. Others are lean teams paying contractors and freelancers in several countries, or running payroll in markets where they have no local bank. To serve both groups, the company needed a partner that could give each client an account in its own name, turn stablecoin balances into local currency, and pay out across Southeast Asia, Australia, the UK, and Europe. It turned to Tazapay for that infrastructure.

‍

‍

Challenges

‍

As the company grew its client base across four regions, several gaps were slowing down how it collected and paid out for its clients.

‍

Clients needed accounts in their own name.

‍Buyers asked the company's importer and exporter clients for bank details to settle trade payments. Collecting into an account in the platform's name, rather than the client's, raised questions at the wrong point in the trade cycle.

Stablecoin balances could not reach local bank accounts.

‍A growing share of clients held or received value in stablecoins. Those balances could not pay a supplier or run payroll until they became local currency in a local bank account.

Account operations took manual effort.

‍Opening accounts, matching inbound payments to the right client, and releasing balances for payout took operations time on every transaction. Adding clients meant adding headcount.

Each market had its own rails.

‍Every region has its own clearing systems and beneficiary rules. Using a different provider for each would have meant several integrations, several reconciliation formats, and several compliance relationships to manage.

‍

‍

Solutions

‍

Tazapay gave the company one integration covering collections, stablecoin off-ramp, and payouts across all four regions, with accounts set up in its clients' names.

‍

Collections on Behalf Of (COBO).

‍Tazapay issues multi-currency virtual accounts that the company assigns to each client, so an importer or exporter can share account details in its own name. Funds received are credited to the client's balance and are ready for payout without leaving the platform.

Virtual Account Automation via API.

‍Account opening, inbound payment alerts, and reconciliation run through the API. The company can open an account for a new client on the day it is onboarded, and inbound funds are matched to the right client automatically.

Payouts on Behalf Of (POBO).

‍The company pays business and individual beneficiaries on behalf of its clients. Supplier settlement, payroll, and freelancer payouts all run through the same integration.

Stablecoin Off-Ramp.

‍Clients can fund collections and payouts in stablecoins such as USDC, which Tazapay converts into local currency.

Local Payout Across Four Regions.

‍Tazapay pays out through local rails where available, or over SWIFT, across Southeast Asia, Australia, the UK, and Europe. The company works with one partner, one contract, and one reconciliation format.

‍

‍

How It Works

‍

Step 1. The company onboards a client and opens a multi-currency virtual account in the client's name through the Tazapay API.

Step 2. The client shares the account details with its buyers, or funds the account itself. Incoming funds are collected on behalf of the client and credited to its balance.

Step 3. Where the client funds in stablecoins such as USDC, Tazapay either settle, hold, or payout  the balance into local currency in the same virtual account.

Step 4. Incoming payments are matched to the right client account automatically, with no manual reconciliation.

Step 5. The company pays a supplier, employee, or freelancer on behalf of the client. Tazapay settles to the beneficiary in local currency through local rails or SWIFT, same-day or near-instant in supported corridors.

‍

Impact & Results

  • Named collection accounts for each client, so buyers pay into an account that matches the business they contracted with.
  • Stablecoin off-ramp on both legs, turning stablecoin balances into local currency for collections and payouts.
  • Automated account operations through the API, so client growth no longer needs a matching increase in operations headcount.
  • Payouts on behalf of clients covering supplier settlement, payroll, and freelancer payouts on one rail.
  • Local payout reach across Southeast Asia, Australia, the UK, and Europe through a single Tazapay integration.

‍

Conclusion

‍

The company now gives its clients a way to collect in their own name, hold value in fiat or stablecoins, and pay suppliers and staff in other countries without long settlement delays.

‍

Tazapay's modular infrastructure means new corridors, currencies, and beneficiary types can be added without rebuilding the integration, so the company can keep adding clients on the rails it already uses.
